How to Make Perfect Downton Abbey tea.
I saw this on a Downton Abbey Calendar
at a friends home and it made me smile.
I love tea and Downton Abbey;
How to make the perfect cup of tea;
First, always warm the teapot in advance with hot water.
Dump out that warm rinse and then add tea to the pot,
with one teaspoon per person plus one extra for good measure.
Brew for no more than five minutes with fresh water that is almost boiled.
Use a tea strainer to avoid getting leaves in your cup when tea is served.
And, even if you have a servant to help pass cups,
a hostess ought to pour her guests' tea herself.
